June 25, 2008— NorCal hardcore/punk band, The Force, is reuniting for the first time in 10 years. Singer Matt Wedgley (Viva Hate), bassist Hunter Burgan (AFI), guitarist Mark Roustabout (The Roustabouts) and the inimitable drummer Chad Cox went their separate ways after the band's final show in 1998, each following his own path to personal and professional success.
This reunion will give fans as well as those who missed The Force the first time around a chance to witness California hardcore/punk at its truest and finest.
The Force will only be playing three shows, the first of which will be in their hometown of Grass Valley, CA (a small town in the Sierra Nevada foothills, between Sacramento and Reno) followed by a Bay Area concert and finally a Southern California stop. The dates are as follows:
August 29, 2008 - Miner's Foundry in Nevada City (Grass Valley), CA
August 30, 2008 - 924 Gilman St. in Berkeley, CA
August 31, 2008 - Chain Reaction in Anaheim, CA
Advance tickets are available here: www.theforcerip.com
Formed in May of 1995, the band recorded and toured for three years. The Force released several recordings, including a 7", a 10" and a split 7" as well as a number of songs on compilations.
This reunion will coincide with the release of a complete discography, containing every song The Force ever recorded. A 500 limited edition, 21-song double-LP will be sold at the shows as well as online while supplies last.

My good friends at Chasing Safety launched their website yesterday which has a wide range of live videos, exclusive interviews, and music videos from tons of bands including The Color Fred, Circa Survive, From Autumn To Ashes, You Me At 6, This is Hell and Comeback Kid. Macbeth have teamed up with them offering one lucky winner and two runners up the chance to win some Macbeth gear, head over to www.chasingsafety.co.uk for more info and http://chasingsafety.co.uk/comp_reader.asp?compID=2 to enter the competition!
"Following months of donning cameras after work , traveling all over the
UK to shoot live sets, exclusive interviews, and music videos, the
independent production team that is Chasing Safety is finally ready to
launch their “one stop shop for all Rock media” –
www.chasingsafety.co.uk.
Oddly, whereas most similar companies start off in local pubs with
their dad’s old hand held camera, Chasing Safety came in at a higher
level – shooting Saosin and Underoath (the band who’s album their name
is influenced by) on the Taste Of Chaos tour at London’s Brixton
Academy. Stranger still, is the fact that they’ve never had to revert
to the toilet bowl circuit, instead enjoying success filming big name
bands such as The Fall Of Troy, Bullet For My Valentine, Poison The
Well and Every Time I Die.
Asked about his inspiration behind the company, owner Jamie Horton
says, “we started off in the best possible way; shooting our favourite
band at one of the most prestigious festivals in the rock scene at one
of the biggest venues in London – Saosin at Taste of Chaos Brixton.
From there, we evolved into a great company who filmed big named bands
on a regular basis. None of our success would have been possible
without the excellent team that have stuck behind me, whom I also
consider some of my best friends.“
Bearing in mind the fact that the team have only just stepped out of
the mosh pit and taken up position behind the camera; the attention
they pay to detail when shooting and editing their videos is
impressive, and their display of tenacity – sometimes shooting up to 5
gigs a month, is highly admirable.
Intending to become a central platform for all rock lovers worldwide,
the team will be updating the site on a daily basis, so be sure to
check out chasingsafety.co.uk, I guarantee you that you’ll love it."

We all seem to dread this type of news when it comes to bands that you have listened to for so many years and have built amazing relationships with. Macbeth has been a supporter and friend of From Autumn To Ashes for many years and to have news come through that they will be taking a indefinite hiatus is always a bummer. Fran (vocals) was kind enough to write up a statement to clear up the reason behind the decision. “At this point I feel that we have accomplished everything we could have hoped for with FATA,” Fran Mark says in a statement to fans on the band’s MySpace page. “It doesn’t feel much like a break up. Just feels like the end. It’s complete. I would say that we are going on indefinite hiatus because the term breakup suggests a more negative circumstance. There have been no quarrels between band members. It is also not a question of fan support because we are lucky to have some of the most loyal and impassioned friends a band could ask for. Thank you again for the overwhelming support of our last album. I’ve dedicated almost 9 years to FATA and it’s become something of a security for me. I’m looking forward to feeling uncertain and the freedom of starting a new band that has no definition." We @ Macbeth Australia and Macbeth worldwide wish the best of luck with each and every one who was apart of FATA. And never forget the doors to Macbeth are always open for you guys. Make sure you go check out Fran and Rob's new project Warship. www.myspace.com/mywarship
