yeah so, a lesson to be learnt here kids. never brag. Ever. Thanks dad. i love you. sounds good huh. so the time came for my first visit to the new family pad. i flew up on Thursday, mum made me Spaghetti, drank some beers with my Da, all good. even better the waves were small, fun and pumping. 3ft, no wind and the best sand bank in 30yrs according to original Cooly gangster and 1978 world champion Rabbit Bartholemew. so the next day i paddled out on my new stick to see endless mechanical barrels running down the coast. i nearly dislocated my cheeks from smiling so hard. had a pretty good surf, new board, so I was a little shaky. it was fast so you had to fly. but still got in 1 really good turn in. exited about thing to come for sure. time for my second surf that day. tide was loooooow. i was even touching the sand whle i was paddling inside. caught a cracker, 2 good turns. frothing. so i was paddling back out through a set, i duck dived and... stopped. hit the sand. yep, pretty shallow, only to turn over my brand new 8 wave weapon to see the fin plug pulled half way out. i snapped the fin too.in 6inches of water. arrrrggghhhhhh. i couldn't get it fixed cause it wasn't my stick and belongs to one of the best shapers in the world so i didn't want to play with it so i had to retire, defeated, kaput, over and out....back in Sydney now, i'm over it, its cool. i'm a big boy. my parents aren't moving for a while, i hope...but only 8 waves? i can still hear the boys laughing off their stools at me.
