hey humans! just a quick update on our long time family and friends Little Birdy. i flew to Melbourne last week to see them play over the weekend at the Hi-Fi bar on Swanson street. right next to PSC, one of our stockists in Melbourne. sweet store too. check that on out for your bad self. ummm... yeah yeah, the birdy's. Smashed it. i've seen these guys play a few times i reckon and they are one of coolest bands to see live. so much magnetism. they pull you right into the gig. your gone. Katy, as usual, had the crowd singing along to every song, they loved it. you gotta see it to believe it. after all they do write the catchiest songs in this wide brown land. from go to whoa, it was a fun fest. one of the best things about the night for me was not just the vibe on the floor, but the vibe on stage. they, my friends, had a ball. Matty Chequer! Matty Chequer banged those drums like a man possesed. they all spent their time facing off with him, jamming, then turn around to face the crowd all smiles. i love Matthew. i love Little birdy. Simon switched from his axe to key boards, Fergus, thier brilliant live keyboardist played guitar as well, and Barney, during Better Off alone played his mouth keyboard,organ/harmonica thingy, (sorry Barney, you know i'm an idiot). thats Little Birdy for ya.  you'll never get the same gig, same version. musical talent times one billion. trillion. and to add a special treat to an already kick ass night, they presented some new song for us from the new album. they are in the midst of recording the demo now, but this baby will be worth the wait. its got this amazing "classic" timeless feel to it, some fine 50's sounds as well. its gonna be sooo sick. they also closed the set and the encore with the ever popular rendition of the Split Enz anthem "Six months in a leaking boat". best cover EVER. hear me? tell you what check it out for your self.
